Corp Finance Analyst I

Position Specific Description

The Financial Analyst supports the NextEra Energy Investments team with financial analysis, reporting, and portfolio monitoring. This role focuses on tracking investment performance, preparing financial reports, and other activities for NEI’s portfolio companies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Support investment tracking processes and prepare regular financial reports for NEI portfolio companies
Assist with valuation analysis and financial modeling for current investments
Coordinate with portfolio company management to gather financial data and understand business performance
Prepare monthly investment summaries and quarterly portfolio updates for management review
Conduct financial analysis to evaluate portfolio company performance against projections
Maintain NEI investment databases and ensure accuracy of financial records
Support budget preparation and forecasting processes for the NEI team
Prepare presentation materials and financial exhibits for management meetings
Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Job Overview
This position works with internal and external groups to perform due diligence and asset valuations of various corporate financing projects. This position works as a Subject Matter Expert in the planning and coordination of work assignments to identify and analyze the impact of relevant financing projects.

Works with internal and external groups to analyze various financial projects such as mergers and acquisitions
Builds, enhances and maintains complex financial models
Proposes strategies to maximize the financial performance of the company
Supports project and corporate capitalization processes with due diligence, identification of key risks and mitigants, and cash flow analyses
Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 2+ years

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s – Accounting / Finance
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
