Nuclear Instructional Technologist - Fleet
Position Specific Description
The instructional technologist will manage the fleet instructor training program, maintain design basis documentation, training materials, interface with the INPO industry, schedule resources, and ensure the instructors meet required qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedules and prepares Instructor Training Discipline Committee meetings
• Evaluates training material quality against company standards
• Reviews analysis and design data for accredited programs and serves as the SAT conscience for instructors
• Utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS) to schedule and track training activities
• Maintains instructor qualification records
• Manages assigned corrective action program items
• Provides oversight for SAT governance procedures and processes
Job Overview
Employees in this role provide instruction related to Engineering, Health Physics, Chemistry, Maintenance (Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.) and other disciplines, functions and specialties. This job delivers required training courses that meet regulatory compliance obligations in the nuclear industry. Individuals participate in the identification of instructional gaps and improvements of specific training agendas in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develops, delivers and improves assigned training courses, supporting materials and instructor/student evaluations using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
Revises instructional materials to reflect changes in plant design, current plant practices, regulations, and/or operating philosophies
Provides direction and coaches less-experienced instructors
Serves as the training program lead to ensure all elements of assigned instruction comply with company standards, NRC regulations, INPO accreditation criteria, and other codes, standards and regulatory requirements
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Grad / GED
Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 7+ years
Nuclear Experience: 7+ years
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s – Sciences
Bachelor’s – Engineering
Certified Nuc Trng Instructor Classroom
Special Requirements
Nuclear Specific Requirements:
Bachelor’s in a technical field (e.g., Math, Physical Sciences specialty, Engineering) or equivalent education and/or experience
Related industry OR nuclear training experience: 8+ years
