Readiness & Operations Transition Manager

Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy Resources is one of America’s largest wholesale electricity generators, delivering innovative energy solutions that power communities and support a sustainable future. We are seeking a highly motivated Readiness & Operations Transition Manager to support the successful launch and long‑term performance of new solar and battery storage projects across the West & Central Region of the United States.
This position will focus on readiness and transition activities for the first 2–3 years, ensuring new assets are fully prepared for operational handoff. After this readiness phase, the role will transition permanently to an assigned site location to support ongoing operations.
The ideal candidate resides within the region and near a major airport to support a travel schedule of 50% during the first 2-3 years.
Project & Transition Management
Plan, coordinate, and complete large‑scale or multiple medium/small complex projects within schedule and budget guidelines.
Manage all aspects of day‑to‑day transition processes to ensure timely and efficient completion.
Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
Conduct project meetings and oversee project tracking, analysis, and reporting.
Identify issues, validate results, and implement corrective actions.
Provide coaching, leadership, and direction to project teams.
Ensure compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Create and communicate presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct external research and stay current on industry advancements.
PV Technician–Focused Responsibilities
Perform field inspections of PV modules, inverters, trackers, racking systems, and electrical balance‑of‑plant components.
Support commissioning activities, including functional testing, performance verification, and documentation review.
Troubleshoot and diagnose PV system issues, including electrical faults, inverter errors, communication failures, and performance anomalies.
Assist with corrective maintenance activities to ensure timely resolution of system issues.
Verify construction quality and adherence to engineering specifications during site visits.
Review as‑built drawings, test reports, and turnover packages for accuracy and completeness.
Support spare‑parts planning by identifying critical components and validating inventory needs.
Evaluate system performance data to identify trends, underperformance, or reliability concerns.
Collaborate with field technicians to ensure safe work practices and proper use of tools and equipment.
Provide technical guidance to site teams during the transition from construction to operations.
Validate SCADA, monitoring, and data‑acquisition system readiness for operational handoff.
Support warranty claim documentation and coordination with OEMs.
Participate in root‑cause analysis for equipment failures or recurring issues.
Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety protocols are followed during field activities.

Job Overview
The Site Technician will support the Regional Manager or designee to ensure the perfect execution of the PGD processes. Site Technicians in a solar region perform duties in the following but are not limited to safety, contractor management, electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, overall site operations, asset management and regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.

Required Qualifications
High School Grad / GED
Experience: 5+ years
Valid Driver’s License (NON CDL)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
Licensed Electrician
Licensed Master Electrician
Cable Locating Principles&Techniques Cer
Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
