Job Summary
In this role, the Sr. People Scientist will drive the measurement strategy to evaluate ServiceNow’s learning ecosystem serving employees, customers and partners globally and conduct related workplace research. You will apply research methods and advanced analytical techniques to understand the impact of learning programs, initiatives, and technology, generating insights that will inform strategic decision-making regarding investment in learning programs, program design, and platform optimization.
You must have excellent applied research and quantitative skills, as well as communication, presentation and writing skills. You must have the ability to view all activities from an ecosystem lens to drive results. The ideal candidate has passion for and expertise in using diverse methodologies to measure program success and inform business decisions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Design and execute comprehensive program evaluation frameworks using established evaluation models and measurement theory principles
Partner cross-functionally with HR and business stakeholders to identify appropriate methodology to address needs and answer key organizational questions
Analyze learning platform data, including engagement metrics, completion rates, assessment scores, learner feedback, and longitudinal performance trends and conduct statistical analysis to identify relationships with key business outcomes
Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights to drive program improvement and inform business decisions.
Manage research and program evaluation projects from start to finish, with minimal guidance
Design, build, and deploy surveys focused on training and program evaluation
Leverage emerging AI tools to enhance data analysis, automate repetitive research tasks, and generate faster, more accurate insights to support people decisions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Psychology, Learning Sciences, Statistics, Data Science, or related field; (Master’s degree or higher strongly preferred)
Advanced proficiency in quantitative research methods, including experimental design, survey methodology, and psychometric principles
Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., R, Python, Tableau, Power BI)
Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources
6+ years of experience in program evaluation, learning analytics, or organizational research
Ability to initiate and drive research projects to completion with minimal guidance
Ability and motivation to work on multidisciplinary teams and gain expertise in cross-functional success metrics (e.g., sales, engineering, and finance metrics)
Strong business acumen skills including strong written communication, data visualization, and presentation to executive audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise applying measurement theory and evaluation frameworks to assess learning program effectiveness
Experience working with Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), Learning Management Systems (LMS), or similar learning technologies
Proven track record designing and executing evaluation studies that have influenced organizational learning strategy
For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $129,300 – $226,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
